Attack of the Deurgar
In this campaign, the Deurgar have escaped into the King’s Forest and are wreaking havoc, killing, pillaging, and robbing anyone they see. While on a journey, the party encounters a raiding group in the process of fighting a police squad from Sharn. Only one of the police survives, while there are three Deurgar remaining. As the party passes, this is read. After trudging through the forest for ten hours, you’re starting to question things. You’re question your sanity, this shortcut, the importance of getting to Sharn anyway. But most of all, you’re questioning your rogue. Suddenly, you hear a rustle in the trees. Instinctively, you reach for your weapons, then sheath them when you realize it’s just the rogue. “Oh, what a great shortcut, (insert rogue’s name here.) “Come on, it’s not that bad.” Suddenly, a cry rings out. An elf falls to the ground in a clearing nearby. One remaining elf fights off three odd-looking dwarves. What are these things? I guess you’ll find out. (If there is no rogue in the party, have it be an NPC rogue or a ranger.) The field: The players start out on a two square wide path. To their right, there is six square wide woods. There is a clearing next to this. The clearing is six squares by six squares, surrounded by forest. If they manage to kill all of the Deurgar and protect the elf, the elf gives them each 10 gold and pays for their food, drink, and rest. He also offers them a job hunting Deurgar in the King’s Forest.
